Ive switched out the drive, and I now want to remove the power on and supervisor password.When I go the the password section, there are no options for me to start unabling the passwords.Is there a different section I can go to Its tellin me that the items cannot be modified in user mode.Is there a supervisor mode I used f1 to get into the setup utility.
Is this something where I should instead press the access IBM button. Unfortunately, I followed this instruction first: I believe that for the T4x systems you press the F1 key when the system is powered up. ![]() If you remove the CMOS (backup) battery that will get rid of the power-on password. If you also have a supervisor password enabled, then the next time the system is powered on, it should prompt you to enter the supervisor password (because the date and time was lost). Unfortunately, it does say that the date and time were lost, but it then also says that the system has been tampered with. Im hoping that leaving it unplugged overnight and trying again tomorrow will do something. Now go to SecurityPassword, and first click on Power-On Password, enter POP, hit Enter-key thrice without typing in anything, confirm, done (if POP doesnt work, try SVP instead). Now click on Supervisor Password, enter SVP, hit Enter-key thrice without typing in anything, confirm, done.
